Alarm has been going for approximately a year, since over 80 people attended the founding
meeting on 15 May 2011. There have been some fun times and some frustrating ones. When
numbers dropped and meetings began to feel stale, we knew something had to change – it was
time either for a drastic overhaul or to quit and humbly call it a day. But as this is the
year of the olympic games, the jubilee and all this under a conservative Government, it’s
crucial despite everything that we organise and think smart, because the poor will get
poorer still and the rich drip in riches before our very eyes. While more and more
children in the U.K. classify as living under the poverty line for example, as Anarchists
we cannot afford to ignore this urgent matter. Continuing with internal squabbling any
longer when the situation is critical is counter revolutionary.
