The conference’s objective is to examine the impacts and implications of the most recent iteration of the Western-centric discourse represented in Samuel Huntington’s The Clash of Civilizations and Francis Fukuyama’s The End of History theses.

Those of us living in BC are blessed with magnificence: old-growth cedars dipping curved limbs into the ocean, mammoth Douglas firs big as cathedrals, grey whales basking in the warm shallows.

The SMASH Collective (Students at McMaster Against Sexual Harassment) is a student group working to build inclusive community-based support networks and mutual aid for survivors of sexual violence.

We are hosting a Day of Action and Education on Friday, March 20th from 1-7pm at the McMaster University Student Center (MUSC, room 203), in Hamilton, Ontario.

Faces of Resistance is a day-long conference bringing together diverse groups opposed to the Alberta Tar Sands. We are combining the voices of citizens, labourers, environmentalists, indigenous communities, youth, political activists, and non-humans to learn about Tar Sands resistance and envision how to transition towards a just and sustainable society.
