Come enjoy some Café Ramona and appreciate, try on and buy some beautiful clothing and products made by amazing Zapatista Mayan indigenous women in Chiapas, Mexico.

As the change of seasons comes upon us, with Fall and its wondrous colours, I would like to invite you to come and chat with other wonderful people, and take the time to appreciate some beautiful creations from Chiapas, Mexico, and if you so wish, to buy some for yourself or a loved one.

These creations are made with love, justice, dignity and from a place of hope. Buying any one of them supports a dignified and hopeful way of living that we are all entitled to.

This gathering is an opportunity to come together and to support these amazing women and their communities. This is beyond Fair Trade—it is a project in solidarity with women who believe and work towards their dreams, through weaving in their traditional Mayan methods, but also through the creation of new ways to represent their spirit, their struggles and their dreams!

You are welcome to just come in and drink some coffee (or some tea), and nibble on a dessert. If you like, feel free to bring some goodies to share. But most of all, feel free to admire, try on and be inspired by the wonderful creations that these strong, beautiful Zapatista women make.

There will be beautiful cushion covers, shawls, little and large bags, blouses, huipiles, skirts, pants, earrings, girl’s sizes and delicious organic coffee.

For more information, please email me at erikasdream[at]yahoo.ca.

In honour of Ramona, an amazing Zapatista compañera, who continues to inspire us.

Other events will be organized in the near future, so you can continue to get gifts for yourself and your loved ones!
