Managed news misinformation reflects official Times policy. It's standard practice. It's longstanding. Truth is verboten. It's systematically avoided. Readers are betrayed. They're lied to daily.
It shouldn't surprise. Washington and Israel are longstanding imperial partners. Significant regional operations are jointly planned. It's done well in advance. It's for strategic advantage. Operations are part of a greater regional agenda.

Wednesday’s bombing of a Syrian military site by Israeli warplanes has ratcheted up the danger that the Western-backed civil war in Syria will spill over into a broader regional conflagration...The Syrian government...said that air strikes were directed against a military research center in Jamraya, in the Qasioun mountain range about three miles west of Damascus. It said that two workers at the center were killed in the bombing and five others were wounded.
Israel partners with Washington's wars. It's been largely covertly involved against Syria. It's now blatantly overt.

The US, NATO and the Turkish government claim that the missile batteries are purely defensive — aimed at protecting civilians in southern Turkey from Syrian missiles. In reality, the deployment of the missiles is a preparation for the imposition of a no-fly zone and a campaign of aerial bombardment to support anti-Assad militias — along the lines of the Libyan regime-change operation.

The sectarian character of the opposition and the fact that it is sponsored by the US and Europe, in alliance with Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, is Assad’s main source of internal support. Many who oppose his brutal regime — Sunnis as well as Alawites, Christians and other minorities — back him for fear of what will come next.
On January 2, the UN News Center headlined "Data suggests death toll could be more than 60,000, says UN human rights office."
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stresses that neither side can prevail in armed conflict. Unless resolved peacefully, the Syrian conflict will continue long-term.

Truly known to be one of the most misinterpreted and misused words, terrorism is defined and refined by the West according to the context where it proves deleterious or beneficial to those who define the term.
Syrians struggle valiantly to defeat Western-recruited invaders. Islamofasists infest their ranks. They're cold-blooded killers.
Western-recruited Islamofascist killers are US favorites. They committed mass murder and horrific atrocities since last year. Washington, other Western countries, and regional rogues arm, fund, train, direct, and encourage them.
