Under capitalism, the economy is not planned. It's basic driver is the corporate thirst for profit - not meeting people's needs. Yet seriously tackling climate change and growing social disadvantage would seem to demand putting a conscious plan in place of the prevailing market anarchy. Is a publicly owned, democratically planned economy actually feasible.
