Books 2 Prisoners acknowledges that Ottawa is the unceded, occupied and traditional territory of the Algonquin Nation.

This panel will focus on the experiences of these women in movements for social justice, their experiences of and thoughts about the repression that they have and continue to face as a result of their actions, and the role that the Prison Industrial Complex plays in maintaining white supremacist capitalist heteropatriarchy.

Ann Hansen lives on a farm near Kingston, Ontario. Formerly the co-owner of a cabinet-making business, she is now a freelance writer. Ann served seven years in prison for her role in the bombing of Litton Systems plant, an arms manufacturing plant, and the firebombing of three stores that rented and sold brutally violent pornography. She is also active in the prison abolition movement.

Amanda Hiscocks is currently serving a two year sentence for the organizing that she did against the g8/g20 summit that took place in Toronto in June of 2010. She plead guilty to the charges of "Counseling to Commit Mischief over $5000" and "Counseling to Obstruct Police".
