<p> The 20th anniversary of mandatory detention is a reminder that the detention of refugees upon arrival has not always been a part of Australia's refugee policy. As part of the week, Melbourne Uni Refugee Action Collective will be hosting an open-air public forum on the topic of alternatives to mandatory detention. 1pm. North Court, Melbourne University.</p>
