Over the past six months, the Peak Oil Task Force held more than 40 meetings and involved dozens of policymakers, experts, stakeholders and interested citizens in gathering information and preparing a draft report for public comment. The final version of the report is now ready, and was presented to City Council on March 7, 2007. City Council passed resolution No. 36488 in response.
The 86-page final report, titled “Descending the Oil Peak: Navigating the Transition from Oil and Natural Gas,” includes recommendations to reduce oil use and strengthen the community’s ability to respond to social and economic stress. It is downloadable here.
