Charter protects bargaining, Supreme Court rules

OTTAWA * The right to collective bargaining in the workplace is
protected under the Charter or Rights and Freedoms, the Supreme Court of
Canada ruled Friday in a landmark judgment that astounded the labour
movement by putting tight clamps on how far governments can go in
restricting their rights.
