OAXACA UNDER ATTACK: Picket at Mexican Consulate in Vancouver (Friday)
The people of Oaxaca needs from us, we cannot leave them alone!!
The people of Oaxaca city are being attacked by the Mexican army!!
During today’s early hours, the Federal Preventive Police attempted to get into the installations of the university and take Radio Universidad, the only voice that the Oaxacan people has to make public to the entire world that the Mexican government is committing atrocities against the population. The heroic resistance that the Oaxaquenos maintained for several hours achieved a crease of the police, with a balance of 32 detainees, more than 70 wounded and a not yet determined number of people disappeared (there is testimonies that some of the detainees were taken to the military base in Oaxaca).
We believe that tonight a big repressive action could take place, that is why we call all the organizations in solidarity with the just struggles of the Mexican people to join our call:
Oaxaca is not alone!
Stop the atrocities against Oaxaca people!
Long live international solidarity!
We call on the solidarity of the people of Vancouver to stop the violence in Mexico .
Let’s defend the families that suffer the terror of the siege of troops and paramilitaries of the fascist Mexican government.
Let’s protest against the fascist Mexican consul.
The consulate is located on 1177 West Hastings St.
The meeting point will be tomorrow, November 3rd at 11:00 am in front of the Mexican consulate. Bring signals, banners, candles and megaphones.
