Ontario: Mining Corporation Bombed
On Canada Day morning bombs made with gas cans and timed incendiaries were left along with a warning painted on the wall at the office of Frontenac Ventures Corporation in Oakville. This is a mining company one of whose projects is uranium mining in the area of Sharbot Lake. Despite local opposition by native and non-native peoples they continue to destroy territory and lives that they have no claim to.
A variety of peaceful methods have been utilized in the attempt at stopping this company's project resulting in ongoing court cases and continued uranium exploration.
This company is one of many whose projects and profit demand the destruction of land and displacement of its people.
We see in all situation of resistance such as this that neither government nor company care to listen to these peaceful methods and so we hope they'll hear this one.

With friends like these [deleted], the Ardoch Algonquins don't need enemies. These kinds of tactics will do nothing except allow Frontenac Ventures to portray itself as a victim of violence and intimidation. This is directly contrary to the decision by the Ardoch Algonquins to build a broad coalition, in part by keeping their protest strictly non-violent. Organizing grass-roots protests takes time and hard work which is undermined by [deleted] radical-chic [deleted] who do this kind of stuff.
