The Continued Struggle for Educational Access by the Afrikan Community: In Solidarity with the Transitional Year Programme
The Network for Pan-Afrikan Solidarity (NPAS) stands firmly in solidarity with the Transitional Year Programme (TYP) and the Transitional Year Programme Preservation Alliance (TYPPA). The University of Toronto has been imposing conditions on the TYP that are not beneficial to the success of the program or the well-being of the students the program serves. We call on people of good conscience to support the TYP in resisting a restructuring plan that would dilute or destroy the culture and practice of equity and excellence in education that the TYP has carefully built over the last 43 years!

"There Is No Right to Protest:" Montreal Police Deny Charter Rights
By Ethan Cox - March 23, 2013
For the first time in my life I am afraid of what can happen to me, and to my friends and neighbors and strangers, if we exercise inalienable rights that we cannot, must not, forfeit. This is not hyperbole, it is fact, and the fact is that the world looks a great deal darker today...How else to process the preventative arrest of 294 law abiding citizens for the sole crime of attempting to express their political views in a constitutionally guaranteed fashion?

Stop a New Israeli Massacre in Gaza: Boycott Israel Now!
By Palestinian BDS National Committee - November 16, 2012
The 1.6 million Palestinians in Gaza have endured the worst of Israeli impunity and violence including being placed under a medieval siege, being subjected to deliberately created food insecurity and frequent acts of Israeli state terrorism. It is the duty of all supporters of international law and universal human rights to hold Israel accountable through effective measures, such as those called for in the global, Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
Fuck Your Mustache! Fuck Movember!
Movember- the time of the year, where men try to show they have testicles by growing an ugly flap of hair over their top lip. On top of looking like a greasy douchebag-hipster, pedophile, and/or cop - you are helping to raise funds for a multi-billion dollar black hole of an industry that is notorious for cruel animal testing.

A bill opposing the shackling of pregnant prisoners, AB 2530, has been passed unanimously by the California State Legislature and is now on Governor Jerry Brown’s desk, with thirty days to either approve or veto it. Last year, a previous version of this bill was also passed unanimously by the Legislature, but it was ultimately vetoed by Brown. With Brown’s decision expected anytime, local activists are urgently mobilizing to stop him from vetoing this important bill once again. AB 2530 supporters have created a webpage for the public (not just California residents) to contact the Governor.
