This reaction to the news that Bush is visiting Canada, and without his diplomatic immunity, theoretically vulnerable to prosecution for war crimes, is a reaction likely shared by many the world over. Canada must try to hold him here. The world is watching.

We believe that peace and democratic rights are deeply intertwined, and we defend freedom of expression whether or not we agree with the views being expressed. As peace activists, however, we are particularly concerned about the persecution of Shirin Ebadi, who has on many occasions repeated her opposition to the use of or threat to use U.S. military force against Iran.

On February 20, 2009, the University of Ottawa became the second Ottawa administration to ban the posters of Israeli Apartheid Week 2009, following the lead of Carleton University in a blatant violation of free expression for students speaking out on human rights. Like Carleton University’s administration, the University of Ottawa’s Communications Office used spurious “human rights” claims to ban the poster.
Israel must be held accountable for its crimes of war and against humanity.
"We have in Canada 2 types of politicians, those who are professional whores who say Israel has a right to defend itself by killing women and children with phosphorous bombs. The second type of politicians are those who lost their tongues. All have been silent as if they lost their tongues.."

...[T]his termination of service is prejudicial and motivated neither by intellectual nor pedagogic considerations, but by political values, principally stemming from differences between myself and the Bard administration on the issue of Zionism...[T]he evidence shows a pattern of conflict over Zionism only too reminiscent of innumerable instances in this country in which critics of Israel have been made to pay, often with their careers, for speaking out.

We reiterate the need for a call from Palestinian community based organisations and the over 130 grassroots NGOs in the Palestinian NGO Network for an immediate opening of all border crossings currently controlled by Israel and Egypt...Effective international direct action and an escalation of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanction campaign is necessary to resist the intensification of the collective punishment, imprisonment and ongoing war on the people of Palestine.

The Olympics Resistance Network is based in Vancouver, Coast Salish Territories and exists as a space to coordinate anti-colonial and anti-capitalist efforts against the 2010 Games...We come together on the basis of anti-oppression principles and with a respect for diversity of tactics. In addition to building ongoing educational and resistance efforts, we are working towards a convergence between February 10th-15th 2010, based on the call by the Indigenous Peoples Gathering in Sonora, Mexico to boycott the Games.

You have no right to speak in the name of the martyrs of our people. You are not Anne Frank of the Bergen Belsen concentration camp but Hans Frank, the German general who acted to starve and destroy the Jews of Poland...You are not representing any continuity with the Warsaw Ghetto, because today the Warsaw Ghetto is right in front of you, targeted by your own tanks and artillery, and its name is Gaza. Gaza that you have decided to eliminate from the map, as General Frank intended to eliminate the Ghetto.
When Hackers Against Oppression called for Electronic Civil Disobedience in solidarity with Greek Anarchists on New Years Eve, we knew that we could count on our comrades to do what needed to be done. We are once again asking for your assistance on Monday January 19th (today, MLK Day) of 2008, the International Day of Action Against Vivisection.
The UN Human Rights Council on Monday adopted a resolution condemning the Israeli occupation in Gaza and demanded the immediate withdrawal of military forces. CANADA WAS THE ONLY DISSENTING VOTE (Satan's little helper once again...).
Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions: Justice and Support for Poor and Working Families in Gaza
Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions
Sisters and Brothers:
The PGFTU has been working at all levels in Palestine and in its international relations to mobilize international support for peace in the region. This is the ultimate goal for our working families in Palestine, who labored in every way possible to bring about an end to the Israeli occupation of all Palestinian territories. This occupation is the longest and worst in...modern history.
"The real crime of the Palestinians are not the rockets, not the suicide bombers, but resistance itself: whether peaceful or violent. Non-violent protests have also evoked brutal and even murderous responses from the Israeli army. The Palestinian's very existence denies the legitimacy of the Zionist claim of Palestine having been 'a land without a people.' That they don’t agree to being exiled forever, to being denied their human, civil and political rights, that they don’t agree to disappear—that is the real crime of the Palestinians."
--Statement from Dr. Gabor Mate, an anti-Zionist Jew who spoke at a rally in Vancouver on Jan. 3, 2009 to protest the latest Israeli assault in Gaza

Palestinians are at a loss to describe this new catastrophe. Is it our 9/11, or is it a taste of the "bigger shoah" Matan Vilnai, the deputy defence minister, threatened in February, after the last round of mass killings?...Israel says it is acting in "retaliation" for rockets fired with increasing intensity ever since a six-month truce expired on 19 December. But the bombs dropped on Gaza are only a variation in Israel's method of killing Palestinians...In recent months they died mostly silent deaths...
Israel has launched a massive bombardment of Gaza. Please email your outrage and protest to your representatives and Israel...Officially Canada supports Israeli actions in your name!
