Rally Clotheless For Human Rights in Mexico

In August 2008, 10 political prisoners in Mexico received court sentences of 32 years of prison: also, political prisoner Ignacio Del Valle was sentenced to 112 years of imprisonment. Del Valle is a leader in the Atenco based People's Front in Defense of the Land (FPDT). The FPDT became know in 2002 when its members defeated the government's attempts to build a new International Airport in the town of Atenco and its surroundings.

As a way to show that Canada's business partner does not respect human rights and endorses torture and political imprisonment, activists will march through Commercial Drive carrying signs but no clothes.

When: Saturday September 13, 2008 at 3 pm
Where: From Commercial Drive Skytrain Station to Grandview Park in Vancouver.
