Revolutionary Anarchy
Revolutionary Anarchy
By Icebreaker - July, 1995 - Women Helping Women Coalition (Victoria, B.C.)
[Harriet Nahani is an Elder of the Pacheedaht Nation. Below, she introduces two essentials in understanding the Native experience in B.C.]
On Colonization:
We're in an awful state.
I'm not talking about just where I live--I'm talking about all across the country. We live in dictatorships run by federal government band-elected Band Chiefs, [and] Councilors.
We survived for 50,000 years under a chief who looked after all his people, or her people, depending on where you lived. Everything was considered: environment, the people, everything. They had a beautiful system and it was a good life until Europeans came.
Their idea was to civilize us and make us Christians, actually it was a process to take us away from the land.
They took children at five years of age away from their families, housed them in huge Residential Schools--impersonal places--they taught us a little ABC, just a little of that, but they trained us for servitude, this was to serve the white people.
They took our culture, our culture is our spine. We survived for 50,000 years with our methods.
Our ancestors were conservationists.
On de-colonization:
What I would like to see is people with [traditional] knowledge to teach the small, little people how to grow up with pride. This generation is lost. My generation is lost--they're assimilated.
They don't think like an Indian. What I'd like to see is our five-year-olds being taught their language, their songs, their games, their spirituality, their Indian, eh, their Indian-ness.
I'd like to ask all the people out there to reclaim their culture--practice it, teach the children, and let's reclaim our backbone, our culture and put some pride in our children.
"What we need is [an] Aboriginal Malcolm X to put some pride back into these lost souls."

Singing Her Death Song
She is our Angela Davis, our Emma Goldman, our Martin Luther King, our Phoolan Devi, the list is endless of the revolutionary women who have stood up against the Imperialist killers of nature!
Women in Tehran get taken, women in Montreal get beaten and taken and released, grandmothers in Vancouver are being killed off by being placed in penal "facilities", Harriet Nahani was murdered!
What with our grandmothers, like Grandma Nahani who was arrested by a female cop (who looked like she felt like shit about what she was doing; she should, to say the least, what with blood on her hands) to [Court] Sheriffs looking out through their eyes at the supporters of Harriet Nahani and Betty Krawcyzk at the Vancouver clownhouse, I mean courthouse, last Monday March 7, as the "Un Just", ignorant, disrespectful, violent, (to say the least) Judge Brenda Brown gave 10 months in about two minutes to Betty a week after Harriet died...this UnJust Brown Judge person sent Betty to Surrey Pretrial! Why? To feel Harriet's spirit, the spirit of her struggle, how it connects in so many ways with Betty's struggle, as grandparents are being raped/murdered by our young?
Inside Surrey Pretrial the "police/guards" seemed to do nothing!
As a matter of fact, I see Revolutionary Anarchy has its roots in Surrey.
You cops/sherrifs and the like inspire pure revolutionary anarchy, that even includes saving your ass, all of your family's ass', etc…
What cops forget, or shall I say have beaten out of them through the bullshit propaganda that tells them, like it told me for fucking years, cops serve justice, are there for the people, blah blah blah!
They are there to serve and protect the elite!
BIG Business.
Men.
We all forgot that we are all the seventh generation, to quote OUR grandmother Harriet Nahani.
She risked her life to tell us.
Harriet, who was healing from influenza was put in the Surrey Pretrial (a hell hole only for the likes of Pickton loser fucks who are "going down" as the smoking, raging fires burn and billow and womyn turn and turn and turn and turn feeding the fires!). She was put in a room with 10 young, ignorant, hurting, racist, abusive, white girls, she did hard time, Harriet, as guards stood by and I repeat, seemingly, did nothing as the young pushed Harriet, a 71 year old, around. They had to pull her out on day nine of a fourteen day sentence, meant to "teach us all a lesson"? I am enraged (should be). The lesson reached my heart right away when I heard the news, my anger/sadness was brought up and out and yet, my compassion lingers? My anger and compassion and passion and strategies grow with each moment, as the Revolution gains strength, I can smell it...
Denmark...Montreal...Tehran...Paris...Afghanista...Victoria...Vancouver
Many cops/soldiers/security/slaves and body guards to the "stupidity system" that is dead.
Well, they are waking up, are gonna turn, any minute, I can feel it, see it...like the [Israeli] soldiers, the amerikkkan soldiers...it seems there is an "awakening" of sorts...on all fronts. NO MORE. Grandmothers are leading!
When the granmdmothers lead the grandfathers follow, the men follow, the women follow.
Divide and Rule is dead in the water! Amerikkkan style Imperialism is DEAD, bleeding out as I speak, write, sing, what ever...!
As young warrior's steal flags, reminding us all [of] our people, the nations, we never died, we grew and grew and act and some lie waiting for the signals. There are plenty.
Flags are burning everywhere. Fuck the OLYMPIGS! What are we saying? What are we doing? What are we deciding? As a friend's father stated "what does the word 'elder' mean to you", to us?
If I were to die now, if the protectors of the state (cops) were to take all of us that their bosses believe are a "threat" to the dying system, they would not have enough bullets. The Times are not only changing, they have changed, they continue to as I write. Can you not hear the thunder of feet behind us? Can you not see the masses, see their eyes?
Many of us are making something better like organic gardens for all, say bye bye to shit food, hello to a guaranteed livable income for all...how dare we, right?
Can you police/cops/soldiers not imagine a better life for us all? Can you only stick with what kills and the bully mentality style leadership?
Vava vision! Hello! Just imagine it! We cannot create Poverty!
We can create equality, we could all have easier lives! Come on, you're really happiest guarding a government that is destroying your future, as opposed to hanging with friends and family growing organic food?
Taking care of community rather than intimidating and destroying? Want to know how many children do not trust cops? More and more!
The big old shit is hitting the fan and hey cops/soldiers/sherrifs, you can wake up and smell the coffee...or the blood, or the vomit, or the smoke...you are like the BIGGEST slaves and suckers to this system, so fucking ignorant at the same time you murder, many of you break the very rules your masters make, and those masters, they love that!
The very rules you are supposed to ensure others follow, you break.
What of the good cops? Well, what of the GOOD COPS? Where is your voice? What are they waiting for? SPEAK OUT before its too late. I know you exist, just do it, LEAD and the others will follow!
The shit is indeed hitting the fan!
Here is a mantra that may help you, A People United Will Never Be Defeated!
You are of the people! You were created to be "of and for the people", so you thought, were told, were lied to. The police seem to be so lied to for so long (did you read RUSH?) they do not even know the truth anymore.
I was lied to, I was supposed to be a cop, thank the whatever I did not!
Some of you believe you are above the law, protected as you protect what has died, is dead, no longer works...lays rotting in the gutters.
WAKE UP.
I saw a Judge give a queen's wave with a grin that would scare a child, he was waving out a window as many of us Betty supporters circled the clownhouse, I mean courthouse, after we heard the decision, this so called elder stood there with this unbelievable look on his face, a grin, a [look of] contempt…
Hard to find words!? This is one of your leaders, supposedly an elder!
This is what you protect, sick unhealthy power hungry elites who are so removed from reality and yet, you protect them!
Revolutionary Anarchy. I know you all can feel it, don't be scared, listen to your hearts.
It's not so bad, actually, it's better than not so bad, it's freedom. It's what you witnessed as Betty's supporters stood with Harriet's supporters, rich and poor alike, I can see many of you Sheriffs ended up not liking what you were doing, I can see you were thinking of your grandmothers!
Listen, it's over.
Go home!
If you truly do not want to change, or cannot truly hear, then…
Ever hear the song 'War Pigs' by Black Sabbath?
Just in case:
Generals gathered in their masses,
just like witches at black masses.
Evil minds that plot destruction,
sorcerers of death's construction.
In the fields the bodies burning,
as the war machine keeps turning.
Death and hatred to mankind,
poisoning their brainwashed minds.
Oh lord, yeah!
Politicians hide themselves away.
They only started the war.
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor, yeah.
Time will tell on their power minds,
making war just for fun.
Treating people just like pawns in chess,
wait till their judgment day comes, yeah.
Now in darkness world stops turning,
ashes where the bodies burning.
No more War Pigs have the power,
Hand of God has struck the hour.
Day of judgment, God is calling,
on their knees the war pigs crawling.
Begging mercies for their sins,
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings.
Oh lord, yeah!

A note from Betty:
It will be a bit dicey, keeping you all informed of life behind bars, and to keep me equally informed of your activities on the outside.
But we can do it.
Your responses to our protest both in and out of court have been stunning.
It's an expression of a great upsurge of inter-tribal fortitude and love of the earth.
I'm appealing my conviction and sentence, and also thinking of Harriet Nahanee and how to publicize her appeal.
We're rocking. Yes, we are.
My love
Betty K
