27 students who were protesting the 1 year anniversary of the CAFTA free trade agreement were arrested early yesterday morning in San Salvador. The students who were carrying out a peaceful protest and had not damaged any property, yet have been detained by police for more than 24 hours. 2 underage minors are amoung the 27 students being detained. According to the Procuraduría para la Defensa de los Derechos Humanos of El Salvador (PDDH), the detention was arbitrary and illegal.
